In my paintings, I explore the tensions between opposites like emptiness and shape. I study the human connection with the environment. I'm constantly in search for an other world, triggering a longing far away from reality. It's often a thin line between abstract and figurative art to evoke an atmosphere of loneliness and alienation in a particular architectural setting. No human beings are pictured, but you can sense a human presence. By using bright colors, I create a counterweight for the desolate atmosphere. What's surreal becomes a new reality.
